Welcome Friends and family to my Avacado Trees site
I wish I could say these are my
avocados but they are not. These huge trees are located in Devine Texas to
a Mr. Bill Schneider. Home of the Avocados festival
. They are a Mexico bred Avocado that is
bred for South Texas. I have seen pictures of these beautys in Uvalde and San Antonio
Texas.
They have with stood some freezes Mr. Bill Schneider says, however
he said they may not have produced that year but they survived and produced the following
year.
The avocado has a light skin that you
can bake with and even eat the skin. The taste of these avocados are very mild though there
is one called the Pancho that I had liked that was a bit more punch to
it.
Above: Here are my
parents near one that has the avocados on it already.
Below: Here are
some small avocado plants for sale. They have to be kept in a larger pot
for a few years to get them stronger so they can survive better. If your
in South Texas and are interested in these please contact
"Mr Avocado Man" as my family has
named him :)
